Delete your account
You can ask for your BP Exchange Wallet account and its data to be deleted at any time. No reason is required, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
To delete your account: withdraw any remaining balance, then message support on WhatsApp with your username and the words "delete my account". Support will confirm the request with you and close the account. Deletion cannot be undone.
1. Before you request deletion
- Withdraw your balancePaying out from a closed account is slower than paying out from an open one. Sign in, withdraw any remaining funds to an account in your own name, and wait for them to arrive before you continue.
- Have your username readySupport identifies your account by username, not by phone number or real name. A deletion request without a username cannot be actioned.
- Send the request from the phone number on your accountThis is how support confirms the request is genuinely yours. If you no longer have that number, say so in the message and support will verify another way.
2. How to send the request
Message support on WhatsApp using the button above, or the number in the footer of this page. Include:
- Your username
- The words "delete my account"
Support will reply to confirm the request and check that any balance has been withdrawn. Once you confirm, the account is closed and deletion begins.
3. What is deleted
- Your username and login
- The phone number registered to the account
- Your hashed password
- Your saved withdrawal details (mobile wallet or bank account)
- Support chat history linked to the account
Once deleted, the account cannot be recovered and the username cannot be reused to restore it. If you want to use the service again later, you would open a new account.
4. What is kept, and why
Some records are retained for a period after deletion, because we are required to keep them or need them to prevent fraud:
| Record | Why it is kept | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction history — deposits, withdrawals and balance changes | Legal, tax and anti-fraud obligations | The period required by those obligations, then deleted |
| Technical logs — IP address, device and login times | Security and fraud prevention | A shorter period than transaction records, then deleted |
| A record that the account existed and was closed | To prevent a duplicate being opened on the same phone number in breach of the one-account rule | Retained |
These records are not linked to a live login and are not used for any purpose other than the one listed. Our privacy policy sets out data retention in full.
5. How long deletion takes
The account is closed as soon as you confirm the request with support. Removal of the personal data listed in section 3 is completed within 30 days of that confirmation.
6. Deleting the app is not the same as deleting the account
Uninstalling the Android app removes it from your phone but leaves your account, balance and data exactly as they were on the server. To delete the account itself, follow the steps above.
7. If you only want a break
You do not have to delete the account to stop using it. Support can suspend an account on request instead, which keeps your data but blocks sign-in until you ask for it to be reopened. Say "suspend" rather than "delete" in your message if that is what you want.
